Latest Updates & News!

Even though dozens of Corona residents and taxpayers have contacted the City Council to say "No Rent Control" in Corona, the Council is still pressing forward.

The Mayor has even been calling some people and saying, "this is only mobile home rent control, we'd never expand it beyond that to apartments or single-family homes."

Here's what they're not telling you:

  • If this is "only" mobile home park rent control, why have they spent $500,000 in taxpayer money to set up a huge rent control bureaucracy, and plan to spend millions more?

  • The same radical, activist group behind this plan supports rent control for ALL housing types - mobile homes, apartments, and single family homes.

  • They don't want you to remember that when rent control started in Berkeley 40 years ago, it was in large part pushed by UC-Berkeley students to protect themselves from rent increases. Today - every rental housing unit in Berkeley is regulated by the Rent Board, and if you rent your own home out - even temporarily - you have to pay the tenant over $20,000 to leave. Even at the end of the lease. And even if you are moving back into your own home.

The next vote on the City Council is this Wednesday, October 15 at 6 PM at City Hall.

TAKE ACTION to tell them - "No Rent Control in Corona!"
