The City Council has hired a little-known, out-of-town consulting firm and paid them almost $500,000 to study whether Corona should bring rent control, a radical policy straight out of San Francisco and Berkeley, to our City for the first time. This consultant goes City to City making millions on the same scheme.

This consultant’s job? Recommending whether Corona should have rent control.

And if the City Council agrees, pay millions to the VERY SAME consultant to run the new Rent Control Bureaucracy.

Any guess what the consultant will recommend?

Government bureaucracies always try to grow, and rent control programs even more so. Even if this initial rent control program claims to start small, the politicians and consultants will expand it, eventually even telling homeowners how much they can charge to rent their own homes.
